 April is Autism Awareness Month!  Help us end this very special month by getting the word out and making our goal of 200 applicants!  Remember, we can't get these produced until we meet the state's minimum requirements!

The new Autism Awareness License Plate, which was approved for the state of Missouri is now available for charter orders. We need 200 total for production. Find out how to get yours below!!

Update 10-23-08:   JOIN US IN SUPPORT OF OUR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM! As of today, we have 120 form 1716s in our files.  As you know, we MUST have 200 before the state will produce these plates.  THESE HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE DOT COMMITTEE.  The number needed is a regulation by the state.  I know that there are those of you who want these and just keep forgetting and think "I'll do that tomorrow."  Please, get yours in TODAY!!  Help us make a difference in the lives of families with those affected by autism.

Missouri Autism Awareness License Plate Project

 

 

Over 2 years ago Ethan & Friends embarked on a journey to not only design, but get approval for an Autism Awareness License Plate in the state of Missouri.  In March 2006 we did what many thought was impossible by gaining approval from the Transportation Committee in Jefferson City for our license plates!!  We also thought the hard part may get a little easier, but this has proven not to be so true!! 

 

When we submitted our application, we had to send along with it a list of at least 250 people who wanted to purchase these license plates.  We had an overwhelming response by obtaining over 300 names in a short amount of time.  After our approval was granted, we sent out letters informing everyone of the good news and what the next step was to get your plates (Form 1716).  These MUST be sent to Ethan & Friends so that we can collectively send in 200 forms for production of our license plates to begin.

 

We are short of the required 200 forms and know that this is just simply a matter of people being busy and not having the form on hand.  Trust me, most of our board members are parents of children with autism and we are very busy!!  We understand!!  However, we REALLY need your help.  If you have not sent in your Form 1716 and the $15.00 check made payable to "DOR", PLEASE do so right away. 

 

We know that you are just as anxious, along with those that have already sent theirs in (THANK YOU!), to get these into production and onto our vehicles.  We have had an overwhelming response from organizations all over the state supporting our project.  We can't begin to express our gratitude for all of the support and suggestions.  This is a major way to get awareness out and create opportunities to educate people about autism.  However, the actual plates will never get into production if you do not take the time to fill out the application and send it to us. 

PLEASE HELP US BY SENDING IN YOUR FORMS RIGHT AWAY.
